Vintage Black & White Spaniel Dog / Japanese Chin Ceramic Trinket Box

This charming vintage trinket box featuring a black & white Japanese Chin play bowing is approx. 5.25" tall, 7.5" long and  4.5" wide.
The origins of this trinket box are a mystery. There are no makers marks or labels and I can't find another example online to come up with suggestions of country of manufacture.
Overall this piece is in excellent condition with some wear to the gold bands on lid and base, a few crazing lines on the dog and more on the underside of the base.
