    Description

    code: CK
a rare and interesting, antique, 18th Century figure,
    a
    black latex,
    natural rubber or wax
    doll
    probably from Suriname
height: circa  45 cm / circa 17.7 inch (excl. modern wooden base)
it has a black, soft latex, rubber or wax head, hands and lower legs,
wearing original 18th century period clothing, the clothing is not complete: the upper shirt / blouse / tunic is missing,
the further parts are made of cloth, metal wire and dried grasses,
beside the original textile clothing, the figure has gold-like cuffs on the sleeves,
condition: fair for it's age, the latex/rubber/wax parts are complete, but in the back neck a small triangular piece is loose, the doll in whole is steady,
about the latex/rubber/wax: the material is throughly black and quite soft, that softness made us think of a natural rubber or wax,
the modern wooden stand is constructed of a square base with a, loose, upwards stick, going into the figure,
weight: circa 604 gr. (including modern wooden stand)
